At Niao, we believe in creating knitwear with intention. Our work is shaped by a respect for craft, a commitment to natural materials and a belief that clothing should be made with care. We design slowly, produce in small batches and stay close to the people and places that bring our garments to life.
Our fibres
We choose natural fibres for their beauty, performance and longevity. Our yarns come from heritage spinners in the UK, Ireland and Italy who work with care and intention. These fibres are breathable, biodegradable and chosen for the way they soften and evolve with wear.
We work with materials such as British Alpaca and Superfine Scottish Lambswool because they feel exceptional on the skin and hold their shape over time. Natural fibres allow us to create knitwear that is both luxurious and responsible, with a character that deepens as you live in it.
Our makers
Our knitwear is created in partnership with makers who carry generations of knowledge in their hands. Their expertise shapes every stage of our garments, from knitting and linking to the final hand finish.
Working locally to Ireland and across the UK allows us to stay connected to the process and to the people behind it. It also keeps our production transparent and grounded in real relationships. We believe that true luxury begins here, and we are proud to work with individuals who share our respect for time, skill and integrity.
